INFORMATION COLLECTION, USE, SHARE AND PROTECTION PRACTICES
This Policy applies to RetireMax’s collection, use, storage, sharing, protection and disclosure of information by RetireMax on its Site and is not intended to cover any other websites, companies or affiliates privacy policy practices. We do not collect personally identifiable information from you unless you voluntarily choose to disclose such information while taking advantage of the services and/or products on our Site.
1. HOW WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION
- 1.1 Personal Information. When voluntarily providing or transmitting personal information to us through our Site, we may obtain and collect information provided by you, including, but not limited to, your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, date of birth, gender, marital status, driver’s license number, social security number, occupation, education level, credit card number, vehicle identification number(s), year, make and model of vehicle(s), prior insurance coverage and limits (collectively referred to as "Personal Information"). If you choose to access our Site, use our services or purchase products offered through our Site, we may require you to provide Personal Information as indicated on the forms throughout the Site.
- 1.2 Foreign Use of This Site. To the extent that you are accessing our Site while domiciled outside of the United States, you acknowledge that the Personal Information you are providing to us is collected and stored in the United States and therefore consent to the transfer of information to and storage of the information outside of your domiciled country and in the United States.
- 1.3 Cookies, Web Beacons, and Other Information Collected Using Technology.
- (a) Cookies A cookie is a small string of text stored on a user's computer by a web browser. A cookie consists of bits of information such as user preferences, shopping cart contents, and the identifier for a server-based session, or other data used by websites. It is sent as an HTTP header by a web server to a web client (usually a browser) and then sent back unchanged by the client each time he or she accesses that server. A cookie can be used for authenticating, session tracking and maintaining specific information about users, such as website preferences.
We use cookies to keep track of some types of information while you are visiting our Site or using our services. Cookies are very small files placed on your computer, and they allow us to count the number of visitors to our Site and distinguish repeat visitors from new visitors. They also allow us to save user preferences and track user trends. We rely on cookies for the proper operation of our Site. If your browser is set to reject all cookies, the website will not function properly.
- (b) Tracking Pixels. We use clear GIF Tracking pixels to track user movement through our Site for aggregated website traffic metrics.
- (c) Web Beacons. A web beacon is a transparent image file used to monitor your journey around a single website or collection of websites. They are also referred to as web bugs and are commonly used by websites that hire third-party services to monitor traffic. They may be used in association with cookies to understand how visitors interact with the pages and content on the pages of a website. We may also use web beacons in email communications in order to understand the behavior of our customers.
- (d) IP Addresses. We collect and analyze traffic on our Site by keeping track of the IP addresses of our visitors. IP addresses are unique numeric identifiers that are assigned to each computer browser accessing the Internet. An IP address, by itself, cannot identify you personally. However, when combined with other information provided by your Internet Service Provider (ISP), your IP address can be used to identify the computer originating a message.
- (e) Session ID. We collect all end-user data based off of a session ID. This is how we organize answers to our questions. This in-house convention allows us to use an end-user’s session ID to see all of the end-user input for one quote.
- (f) New Technology. The use of technology on the Internet, including cookies and web beacons, is rapidly developing. As a result, we strongly encourage individuals to revisit this Policy for any updates regarding its use of new technology.
- (g) Demographic Data. Demographic data is also collected on our Site. We use this data to tailor our visitors experience on our Site, showing them content that we think they might be interested in, and displaying the content according to their preferences. Some of this information may be shared with advertisers on a non-personally identifiable basis.
- (h) Log Files. A log file is a file that lists actions that have occurred. For example, web servers maintain log files listing every request made to the server. With log file analysis tools, it is possible to get a good idea of where visitors are coming from, how often they return, and how they navigate through our Site. Using cookies enables webmasters to log even more detailed information about how individual users are accessing our Site. Any time you visit our Site, our servers automatically gather information from your browser such as the following:
- Your IP addresses;
- Browser type;
- Internet service provider (ISP);
- Referring and exit pages;
- Platform type;
- The date and time you visit; and
- The number of Hits (total number of times our Site has been visited).
Log files are used to analyze trends, administer our Site, prevent fraud, track total movement, and gather broad demographic information. For example, we may log your IP address for system administration purposes. IP addresses are logged to track a user’s session. This gives us an idea of which parts of our Site users are visiting. We do not share information in the log files with anyone not directly affiliated with our company.
2. HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION
- 2.1 Insurance Price Quote Estimates. We use Personal Information you voluntarily provide and transmit to us through our Site to provide auto, home, life, health and dental insurance price quote estimates.
